Campaign’s complain isn’t convincing this voter

Re “Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian claims opponent’s ballot designation misleads voters” (Aug. 29):

I took great offense to Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian’s spokesperson, Eric Hacopian, saying that “two volunteer gigs doesn’t qualify as a primary profession.”

I have volunteered as a literacy tutor and special-needs coach for over 30 years. I spend many hours a week helping my community, and I think it is worthy of professional consideration even though I don’t get paid for my work.

Hacopian’s comment exude an arrogance too common with the entrenched political class who look down on “the folks” who aren’t insiders, lobbyists or donors.

I am going to vote for the Democratic outsider, Angela Rupert, in November. She seems to be the much better choice.
